The Filipino Young Professionals of Houston and TX4GK proudly host this year’s GK Walk in Houston. The event aims to raise awareness about the mission and vision of Gawad Kalinga (GK) of eradicating poverty in the Philippines and the whole world. As we walk together, we show our strong belief in the spririt of Bayanihan and our stand against poverty. Let us all take part. We can make the Philippines rise from being a third world country.

The Cause
Gawad Kalinga (to give care) is an integrated, sustainable, holistic program, which aims to address poverty in the Philippines by transforming and empowering poor communities through its various programs (i.e. community development, livelihood programs, preschool). GK has created more than 3,000 communities in the last 7 years and it continues to impact more lives everyday. GK’s goal is to end poverty to 5 million poor families in 2024.
