This month, families across Mindanao and Tawi‑Tawi are facing urgent challenges.
On February 6, 2026, Tropical Storm Basyang brought heavy rains, floods, and landslides that displaced thousands of families. Just days earlier, a massive fire in Barangay Lamion, Bongao, Tawi‑Tawi destroyed around 1,000 homes, leaving families without shelter or basic necessities.
The on-ground team of Gawad Kalinga’s Operation Walang Iwanan is already coordinating with the local government to bring relief to those most affected.
